Victoria A. Kochergin
“As a botanical artist, I strive to incorporate in my artwork not only the spirit of the botanical, but all its wonderful details as well. I feel this is what gives each flower, fruit and leaf its own unique character, identity and beauty. I believe all botanicals in Nature deserve their moment in the spotlight. Thus, I never tire of the many hours/weeks it takes to complete a detailed piece with many layers of rich, complex colors. After each completed piece, I always remain in awe with the complexity, variety and magnificence in Nature. It is this experience I hope to share with others through my artwork.”
Victoria A. Kochergin is a local botanical artist, who’s artwork has been exhibited on Alcatraz, international shows, galleries, art centers, wineries and botanical gardens. She received a B.A. in both Fine Arts and English from UC Berkeley. Although Victoria has worked with many mediums throughout the years, she now works primarily in colored pencil and occasionally in acrylic. She is a member of the American Society of Botanical Artists, the Northern Society of Botanical Artists and teaches classes.
