Earth's Bounty - mixed media paintings A visual feast for the eyes, these contemporary paintings by Carolyn Wilson are rich in texture, line and color. This series of small, still life paintings celebrate earth's bounty. They honor a beautiful bevy of fresh fruit and vegetables found at Farmers markets, backyard orchards and gardens. The same wonderful fresh local produce that inspires chefs to create 'farm to fork' dishes, so maybe these paintings could be called 'farm to frame'?
A fine artist for 25+ years, Carolyn's primary ingredients are watercolor and ink. A love of drawing is evident, and visible ink lines are often an integral part of her designs. Her addition of hand-colored tissue paper collage creates a tactile quality. The complexity, mystery and subtlety of these multiple layers add depth to her creations. Carolyn's work has won many awards, and she is published in the book "The New Encyclopedia of Watercolor Techniques" (2010). She participates in Sonoma County Art Trails Open Studio event annually each October. There will be an Artist Reception for Carolyn Wilson Sunday, January 10, 2016 from 2-5PM.
